- Regina, Saskatchewan Position Description Junior-level Intel Server Support resource for the Electricity Utility's Intelligent Networks & Infrastructure functional area. REQUIRED SKILLS
- Windows Server configuration and administration.
- ITIL certification (Foundation or Service Manager) preferred
- Demonstrated record of continuous improvement.

- Virtualization experience across multiple virtualization disciplines. Description of Duties
- Maintain a secure, highly available data centre and Windows server setting; monitor capacity, performance, availability, configuration and asset refresh.
- Administer and support Intel-based Windows operating systems, server consoles, systems software, management agents, patches, service packs, upgrades and server images.
- Provide backup, recovery, disaster recovery and high-availability support; resolve incidents and problems using established escalation procedures.




- Monitor CPU, memory, disk, throughput and system alerts; define performance thresholds, tune systems and report on capacity trends.
- Perform preventive maintenance, hardware monitoring, server rebuilds, virus protection and security administration in line with SaskPower policies.
- Support physical data centre capacity and infrastructure including rack space, power/UPS, cabling, SAN/network connections, ports, cooling and physical security.
- Coordinate with business units, vendors and technical teams on availability, maintenance windows, operational incidents and service-level performance.
- Maintain technical documentation including server builds/configurations, network diagrams, IP/domain information, contingency plans and maintenance logs.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports and maintain documented thresholds and triggers.
- Support service level management, operational improvements and planned upgrades/enhancements.
- SQL, SMS and VMware support within the data centre environment
