Toronto
Job Overview Toronto Mobile Bicycle Repair Co-op (TMBR) is a worker-owned co-op that brings bike repair to our customers’ doors across Toronto. We’re hiring at least two seasonal mechanics for the 2027 season, starting in March 2027. You’ll ride to homes, offices and corporate events, work independently and represent the co-op face to face. Every stop is a different bike, a different place and a different problem to solve.
- $30/hour to start, rising to $35/hour after your first full season
- Seasonal: about 6 months of work a year, late March to late September, with a temporary layoff over the off-season
- 3-month trial period, so both sides can make sure it’s a good fit
- Gear provided if you want it: the co-op’s cargo e-bike (or similar) and a fully stocked toolkit, or your own setup with our approval
- Parts at cost (plus 5% to cover fees) for your own bikes
- A path to ownership: strong team members can be invited to become member-owners, with room to grow into workshops, events, operations and more
- A 5-star Google rating since day one Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose and repair bikes on site, from home tune-ups to corporate events
- Explain repairs to customers in plain, friendly language. Nobody should feel judged for a squeaky chain or a bargain-bin bike
- Prep for each day by loading the parts needed for your scheduled appointments, and restock at the end of your shift
- Arrive on time and presentable for every appointment. Scheduling and customer booking are handled centrally, so you can focus on the work
- Record service details accurately and keep your tools and parts organized between stops
- Work to the co-op’s service standards and support your teammates Experience *Required:
