ShiftGrit Psychology and Counselling is an outpatient private practice providing formal psychological assessment and counselling services to individuals seeking meaningful, lasting change. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based psychological practices, with an emphasis on understanding the underlying patterns that contribute to clients’ challenges. We strive to create a supportive, collaborative environment for both our clients and clinicians. We are currently seeking Assessor Psychologists to join our team on a contract basis. Position Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting formal psychological assessments, administering and interpreting standardized psychological assessment measures, and preparing comprehensive assessment reports. This position is suited to a clinician who enjoys assessment work, values accuracy and clinical integrity, and is committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based assessment services. The assessor will work independently within their scope of practice and maintain responsibility for the clinical quality and accuracy of their assessment work. Responsibilities
- Conduct formal psychological assessments in accordance with qualified and ethical standards.
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological assessment measures.
- Integrate assessment findings, clinical observations, and relevant background information.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive, and clinically appropriate psychological assessment reports.
- Provide feedback to clients regarding assessment findings and recommendations, as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Ensure assessment procedures are consistent with applicable professional standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the ShiftGrit team as needed to support client care and assessment coordination. Qualifications
- Registered or provisionally registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP),



with authorization and competence to provide psychological assessment services within the candidate’s scope of practice.
- Relevant education and clinical experience in psychological assessment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standardized psychological assessment tools, administration procedures, scoring, and interpretation.
- Strong clinical writing and report preparation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage assessment-related responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practice.
- Professional liability insurance appropriate to the scope of practice. Assessment Resources and Support ShiftGrit provides access to assessment resources to support the delivery of psychological assessment services, including:
- Pearson assessment materials and resources.
- Assessment booklets and related materials.
- Access to Q-global, Q-Interactive where applicable.
- A client-facing tablet for assessment administration. The clinician is responsible for providing their own clinician-end tablet or device required to administer the assessment battery. Details

- In-person assessment services at a ShiftGrit location.
- Flexible scheduling, subject to clinic availability and assessment needs.
