Job Purpose : Under the direction of the Foothills Centre Management, the housekeeping staff is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for clients undergoing detox. Housekeeping staff must perform routine cleaning tasks using specified cleaning agents and adhere to established procedures while respecting client privacy and confidentiality. Other responsibilities include ensuring privacy and confidentiality of clients during the performance of duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial or commercial facility cleaning operations
- WHMIS Training Certificate
- First Aid Certificate preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Good verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, with a positive attitude towards Environment, Health, and Safety practices Page 2 of 2
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including standing, bending, lifting, and operating cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, detoxification protocols, and treatment resources preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

- Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner, demonstrating attention to detail and adherence to cleanliness standards
- Conduct routine cleaning of client dormitories, washrooms, shower stalls, office spaces, entrance ways,



board rooms, and any other designated areas
- Utilize appropriate chemicals and cleaning supplies according to prescribed procedures, ensuring effective sanitation and safety
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and otherwise maintain floors to uphold cleanliness standards
• Identify and report safety hazards promptly to ensure a safe setting for clients and staff
- Notify management when cleaning supplies need replenishing to maintain adequate inventory levels
- Follow all infection control practices to prevent the spread of illness and maintain sanitary conditions
- Attend service education programs as required to enhance knowledge and skills
