Overview The Working Foreman coordinates day-to-day construction work, supports crews in the field, and helps keep projects organized, safe, and aligned with plans. This hands-on role combines team supervision with attention to quality, schedules, and project costs.

About the Role
We are a Calgary-based residential building/contracting company seeking a hands-on Working Foreman to lead a small three-person crew on house builds (new construction / infill). This is not a pure supervisory desk role — you will organize the work and actively participate in the labour. The ideal candidate is organized, practical, and comfortable directing a small crew while working alongside them.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and organize daily work for a 3-person crew (scheduling tasks, materials, sequencing, and priorities).
- Provide direct hands-on labour (framing, general carpentry, finishing, or other residential construction work as required).
- Supervise quality, safety, and productivity on site.
- Coordinate materials, deliveries, and basic subtrade interaction.
- Ensure work meets drawings, building code, and company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.




- Report progress and issues clearly to management. Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of residential construction experience (house framing/building preferred).
- Proven ability to organize work and direct a small crew.
- Strong hands-on carpentry or general residential construction skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Current safety tickets (CSTS or equivalent, First Aid/CPR preferred; others as required by site).
- Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read basic drawings and work independently.
