Seeking Part-Time Blender CG Generalist — Animation, Rigging & Technical PrevisualizationRemote | Part time / Freelance | Immersive Installation / Creative Technology We're looking for a versatile, technically proficient Blender CG Generalist to collaborate on an immersive installation involving projection-mapped media and moving physical sculptures. The project combines CG animation, motion-controlled sculpture, and projection, with Blender and TouchDesigner forming key parts of the workflow. We need someone who is comfortable working across disciplines, has a strong eye for precision, and enjoys solving practical creative-technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
• Rigging & Motion Data: Rigging CG sculpture models in Blender so animation and positional data can be accurately translated through TouchDesigner to physical motion-control systems, without manually recreating movement.
• Animation: Animating sculpture models as we develop and refine the choreography.
• Projection Previsualization: Setting up accurate projection of edited media onto animated models in Blender, allowing us to assess the imagery in the context of the physical installation.
• Lighting & Shadow Analysis: Simulating projector positions and angles to identify potential cable shadows, self-shadowing, and other projection challenges throughout the choreography.
• Workflow Development: Helping establish a reliable, flexible pipeline between Blender, TouchDesigner, and the physical installation, so creative revisions can be made efficiently without extensive technical reworking. Who We're Looking For An experienced Blender generalist with:

• Strong rigging, animation, and scene setup skills.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and an understanding of coordinate systems, transforms, constraints, and parenting.
• Familiarity with Blender Python scripting, transform data export, and coordinate-system conversions.
• An eye for accuracy and an understanding of how CG translates into real-world spatial environments.
• A resourceful, collaborative approach to technical problem-solving. Experience with TouchDesigner, projection mapping, kinetic installations, or motion-control systems would be a significant advantage, though not essential. We're not looking for someone to engineer the physical motion-control system itself. Rather, we need someone who can make the Blender side of the creative and technical pipeline accurate, dependable, and easy to iterate. Above all, we're looking for someone who is careful, versatile, technically curious, and comfortable working across disciplines. We'd prefer to collaborate with one capable generalist who can help develop and maintain a coherent workflow rather than dividing the work among multiple specialists. The Opportunity This is a part-time, remote freelance role on a creative installation project currently in development. Workload will be part-time and will vary with project needs, with potential for ongoing collaboration. If this sounds like your kind of project, please get in touch with a brief introduction and examples of relevant work, particularly projects involving technical animation, rigging, projection, or real-world spatial applications. We'd love to hear from you
