Role Description Simultaneous Interpreter (English–Portuguese) to be conducted REMOTELY via ZOOM. The interpreter will provide real-time simultaneous interpretation English
- and Portuguese. Daily tasks include preparing by reviewing agendas and reference materials, building subject-matter familiarity in areas such as legal, financial, technical, and mining, and coordinating with event organizers and technical staff. The role also involves maintaining qualified conduct in high-pressure environments, managing interpretation equipment when required,



and supporting clients with culturally appropriate and precise language solutions. Qualifications
• Strong simultaneous and consecutive interpreting skills between English and Portuguese, with excellent listening, speaking, and note-taking abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in both English and Portuguese, including broad vocabulary and solid grasp of grammar, syntax, and terminology.
• Experience or familiarity with specialized domains such as legal, financial, technical, and mining terminology.
• Ability to work on-site in conference settings, manage interpreting equipment, and collaborate effectively with event and technical teams.
• High level of concentration, stress management, and professional ethics, with a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with a client-focused and service-oriented mindset.
• Relevant training or certification in conference interpreting, translation, linguistics, or related field; prior professional interpreting experience is highly beneficial.
• Availability to work flexible schedules aligned with conference and event times. Authorization to work in Canada.
