Property Management Consultant – Product & UX Advisor (Part-Time) Company: Tenantly Property Management Inc.
Job Type
Part-Time / Contract Hours: 15–25 hours per week Compensation: $25–$30 CAD per hour
Location:
Remote (Canada) About Tenantly Tenantly is an emerging property management software platform that leverages artificial intelligence to simplify property operations, automate maintenance workflows, and reduce the administrative burden on property managers. We're building a smarter way to manage properties, tenants, contractors, maintenance requests, and preventive maintenance — and we believe the best software is built with the people who actually use it. That's where you come in.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced property management professional to join us as a part-time consultant and help shape the future of Tenantly. This is not a traditional property management position. You won't be managing properties or handling tenant requests on our behalf. Instead, you'll work directly with our product development team, sharing your industry expertise to help us understand the real-world challenges, workflows, priorities, and financial realities of property management. Your insights will directly influence our product roadmap, feature design, and user experience.
What You'll Do
• Map real-world workflows: Help us understand how property managers handle day-to-day operations, from tenant onboarding and maintenance coordination to contractor management, preventive maintenance, and reporting.
• Evaluate the user
experience:
Test Tenantly's features and provide practical feedback on usability, navigation, terminology,
and functionality.
• Identify operational pain points: Highlight repetitive tasks, inefficiencies, communication gaps, and opportunities for automation.
• Guide product development: Help us prioritize features based on what property managers genuinely need versus what's simply nice to have.
• Provide market and budget insights: Share your understanding of property management operating budgets, software purchasing decisions, price sensitivity, and willingness to pay.
• Validate new ideas: Participate in product discussions, review prototypes, and assess whether proposed solutions fit real operational needs.
• Share industry practices: Help us understand how different portfolio sizes, property types, and management structures affect workflows and software requirements. Who We're Looking For Required:
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial property management.
• Strong understanding of day-to-day property management operations.
• Experience coordinating maintenance requests, vendors, contractors, and tenants.
• Familiarity with property management software and digital tools.
• Ability to clearly explain workflows, identify problems, and provide constructive feedback.
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating remotely. Nice to Have:
• Experience managing portfolios of 20–350+ units.
• Experience with platforms such as Yardi, Buildium, AppFolio, or similar software.
• Involvement in selecting property management tools or managing operational budgets.
• Experience developing internal processes, implementing new software, or improving operational efficiency.
• Interest in AI, automation, and emerging property technology (PropTech). Why Join Tenantly?
• Shape a real product: Your feedback will directly influence features used by property managers.
• Flexible schedule: Work approximately 15–25 hours per week around your existing commitments.
• Remote collaboration: Work directly with a small, product-focused team.
• Meaningful impact: Help eliminate inefficiencies you've likely experienced firsthand.
• Innovation: Contribute to the development of AI-powered tools designed specifically for property management. Compensation $25–$30 CAD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Part time consulting engagement, approximately 15–25 hours per week.
