About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer and Drafter to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design and detail robust components and large mechanical assemblies for our industrial dehydrators, heavy machinery, and advanced agricultural lines. You will turn conceptual engineering designs into precise, production-ready blueprints capable of withstanding demanding, heavy-use industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
• 3D Modeling & Design: Create complex 3D models and large assemblies for structural frames, heavy weldments, and mechanical components.
• Drafting & Detailing: Produce clear, accurate 2D fabrication, welding, and assembly drawings for our shop floor personnel.
• Manufacturing Integration (DFM/DFA): Ensure designs are optimized for heavy-industry processes, including heavy plate welding, sheet metal fabrication, and precise machining.
• Standards & Tolerancing: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) to ensure perfect fitment of large-scale mechanical systems.
• BOM & Lifecycle Management:



Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manage engineering change orders (ECOs).
• System Routing: Assist with the layout and space-planning of electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic routing as needed. Qualifications & Skills

Education:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Design, Drafting Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
•

Experience:
3–5+ years of drafting experience specifically within heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, or industrial manufacturing.
• Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) and large-assembly management.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of structural steel shapes, welding symbols, sheet metal layout, and standard mechanical components (bearings, fasteners, drives).
• Hands-on Mindset: Familiarity with heavy industrial fabrication, food processing equipment, or agricultural operations is a major asset.
