Senior Developer – Cloud Applications
- Remote Canada Position Summary Cansel is seeking an experienced Senior Developer – Cloud Applications to help lead the development and modernization of our Digital Products Catalog (DPC) platform. This is a hands-on development role focused on building scalable cloud applications, improving platform architecture, and integrating enterprise, GIS, and AI technologies. You will work closely with Product Owners, GIS specialists, Infrastructure and DevOps teams to support the continued evolution of the platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and enhance cloud-based enterprise applications.
• Build scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Develop modern user interfaces using React.
• Design and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and application integrations.
• Support the modernization of existing applications into scalable cloud-native services.
• Design and optimize relational databases and data models.
• Integrate with platforms such as ArcGIS, FME, Autodesk products, ERP and asset-management systems.
• Identify and develop opportunities to incorporate Generative AI, enterprise search, RAG and intelligent automation into the platform.
• Implement secure authentication, RBAC and application security standards.
• Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews and technical mentoring. Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years developing cloud-based applications.
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React and REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native application architecture.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database design and data modelling.
• Experience designing integrations and building enterprise applications.
• Experience with microservices, SaaS platforms, CI/CD and modern development practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a senior technical role. Preferred Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following would be considered an asset:
• GIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, FME or geospatial applications
• AWS AI services, Generative AI or RAG solutions
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture
• Autodesk Civil 3D integrations
• Surveying, engineering, transportation or asset-management technology
