Full-time, Permanent Expected Hours: 40 per week Work Setting: In Person Job Summary: Kanex Industries is a Canadian-owned steel fabrication and installation specialist based in Langley. With over 18 years of expertise, we reliably deliver high-quality structural and miscellaneous steelwork across the industry. We are seeking a skilled Steel Fabricator/Welder with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for reading drawings & receiving, cutting, fitting, welding and shipping a variety of assemblies across residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Your reliability and attention to detail will ensure we deliver the high-quality products our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
but not limited to:
• Operate Forklift for shipping/receiving
• Explicit understanding and interpretation of shop drawings
• Accurately measure and cut materials according to shop drawings/cut lists
• Fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel components safely and efficiently
• Perform FCAW and GMAW welding processes
• Maintain high standards of safety and quality
• Lead material and workflow through the shop
• Support and Mentor apprentices and assist with their skill development
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment
• Collaborate with office and field team members on project timelines and issues Qualifications and
Requirements:
• Documented Red Seal Fabricator certification
• 5 years of fabrication experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid FCAW CWB Certificate
• Strong ability to interpret shop drawings
• Strong knowledge in mathematics and unit conversion
• Strong knowledge of tools and machinery
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Valid Class 7 forklift ticket
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Experience:
• Proven experience in Steel Fabrication: 5 years (required)
• Proven experience in Welding FCAW required (GMAW is an asset)
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading
• Strong knowledge of tools, plasma cutting, machinery (ironworker and band saw)
• Ability to safely operate Forklift Language:
