Role Description The Construction Estimator is a full-time, in office role based in Ottawa, ON. This position is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for painting, drywall, and flooring projects, including reviewing plans, specifications, and site conditions. Day-to-day tasks include performing quantity take-offs, developing cost breakdowns, and assisting with budgeting for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role involves collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and suppliers to confirm pricing, identify cost efficiencies,



and ensure estimates align with project schedules and client expectations. The Construction Estimator will also support bid preparation, track estimate performance against actual costs, and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating skills for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Candidates should possess Quantity Take-offs skills for materials, labor, and services.
• Candidates should possess Cost Management and Budgeting skills to develop accurate, competitive project estimates.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
• Relevant experience in painting, drywall, or flooring construction estimating is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and reading blueprints and construction drawings is preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills are required.
• Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is an asset.
