Franchise Business Advisor

Are you a proactive, highly organized professional with a passion for franchise operations and early childhood education. Angus Valley Montessori Schools is seeking a Franchise Business Advisor to join our Head Office team in Markham, ON.

This role combines franchise advisory, operational coaching, and project management with policy development and compliance oversight. You will act as the primary liaison between franchisees and Head Office, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and overall franchisee success.

Key Responsibilities

- Support new and existing franchisees through onboarding, operations coaching, and compliance training.
- Review franchise candidate applications, conduct interviews, and assist in selecting suitable candidates.
- Serve as the main contact for franchisees throughout onboarding, center launch, and ongoing operations.
- Design and deliver training programs to ensure franchisees and staff meet AVMS standards.
- Lead end-to-end project coordination for new centre openings, including planning, vendor management, and post-launch support.
- Conduct quarterly and monthly performance reviews to identify growth opportunities and resolve challenges.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with franchise owners, operators, and school leadership.
- Coordinate and attend franchisor hosted events, including evenings and weekends.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure franchisees receive the best value and service.
- Travel regularly to franchise locations to provide support, attend events, and monitor operational compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Participate in corporate meetings to present franchisee needs, operational insights, and field observations.
- Carry a company-provided cell phone and be available for emergency support after hours and on weekends as required.

Policy, Procedures & Compliance Oversight

- Develop, implement,



and maintain policies and procedures supporting franchisee compliance with AVMS and Ministry of Education standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of CCEYA, CWELCC, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Respond to franchisee inquiries, evaluate change requests, and propose updates or improvements to processes, procedures, and policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Marketing, Education, Operations) to review and approve policy/procedure changes.
- Upload new policies and procedures to Smartsheet, notify franchisees of updates, and remove outdated versions.
- Manage the CCLS Portal for new locations, ensuring completion of all licensing documentation, liaising with program advisors, and collecting required documentation until ministry approval.
- Track all change requests and provide semi-monthly status reports detailing open and closed items.
- Conduct virtual meetings or calls to review new changes and optimize operational processes.
- Perform quarterly reviews of operational manuals and regulatory policies to ensure compliance with AVMS and CCEYA standards.
- Apply CWELCC and other regional frameworks to new market entries, ensuring franchisee compliance with local requirements.
- Act as the primary contact for escalations, identifying potential problems, and prioritizing resolution to meet service and business needs.

Corporate Liaison & Strategic Input

- Provide field level insights and recommendations to Head Office for system wide improvements.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, franchisees, and external stakeholders to share best practices and operational guidance.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Lead or contribute to corporate meetings,



providing franchisee feedback and policy updates.
- Look for ways to optimize and streamline processes to enhance operational efficiencies.

Skills & Requirements

- Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Registered Childhood Educator (RCE) certification required.
- 3+ years of teaching experience in childcare or Montessori schools (asset).
- 3+ years of franchise management experience (required).
- 3+ years of project management experience, ideally in childcare, education, or multi-site operations.
- Knowledge of childcare industry standards, CCEYA policies, and CWELCC frameworks.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship building abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills: written, verbal, and digital.
- Technology proficiency: Smartsheet, Slack, Outlook, Dropbox, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Flexible and willing to travel frequently, including overnight stays and weekend events.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Self starter with a pragmatic, strategic mindset and strong follow-through.

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
