Renovation Handyman / Skilled Maintenance Technician

About Us

Custom Management Solutions provides commercial and residential renovation, maintenance, and construction management services in Edmonton and surrounding areas. We work with property managers, commercial clients, and multi-unit residential buildings on renovation projects, repairs, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.

We’re looking for a dependable, skilled Renovation Handyman who takes pride in quality work and can operate independently on job sites.

Position Overview

This role involves hands-on renovation and maintenance work across commercial and multi-unit residential properties. You will complete a variety of tasks including demolition, framing, drywall, finishing, minor plumbing/electrical, and general repairs.

We are looking for someone who is versatile, reliable, and solutions-oriented.

Responsibilities :

- Perform general renovation and repair work
- Demolition and site prep
- Framing, drywall installation, mudding, and finishing
- Installation of doors, hardware, trim, and fixtures
- Minor plumbing and electrical (non-permitted work)
- Flooring installation (LVP, laminate, tile prep)
- Painting and finishing work
- Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Communicate clearly with supervisor and clients
- Assist with material pickups and deliveries when required

Qualifications :





- 3+ years experience in renovations or general construction

- Strong knowledge of basic carpentry and finishing work

- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision

- Reliable vehicle required for daily travel between job sites :

- Having a truck is a strong asset and will increase your chances of being selected :

- Valid driver’s license

- Own basic hand tools

- Comfortable working in occupied commercial and residential environments

- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working on ladders

- Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Assets (not required but beneficial) :

- Experience working in multi-unit residential buildings
- Experience with commercial maintenance
- Basic knowledge of building systems

Compensation

- $25-$35 per hour (based on experience)
- Steady year-round work
- Prospect for growth into site lead role
- Mileage reimbursement when applicable
