Outside Sales Specialist

Preston Hardware is a well-established supplier of hardware, tools, and building materials in Ottawa. We are known for our wide range of products, knowledgeable staff, and excellent customer service.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Outside Sales Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will build relationships with new and existing customers, grow sales, and help customers find the right products for their projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Find new customers and develop new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, property managers, designers, and business customers.
- Visit customers, businesses, and job sites to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
- Manage existing accounts and identify opportunities to increase sales.
- Prepare quotes, follow up on orders, and assist customers throughout the sales process.
- Meet sales targets and help grow the company's customer base.
- Work closely with our in-store team to check product availability and ensure orders are handled correctly.
- Respond to customer questions and resolve concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay informed about our products, promotions, and industry trends.
- Keep track of sales activities and provide regular updates to management.

Qualifications





- At least 5 years of experience in sales, account management, or a related role.
- Experience in hardware, building materials, or contractor sales is an asset.
- Robust communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage your schedule, and meet sales goals.
- Good organizational and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- A diploma or degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is an asset.
