Shape aircraft human-machine interfaces through cognitive ergonomics, prototyping, simulation, and usability testing in Toronto or Montreal onsite. As an Aerospace Human Machine Interface Engineer, you will support flight deck design, evaluation, and certification activities. The position involves developing requirements, analyzing tasks and human errors, creating HMI simulations, and conducting user-centered design activities. You will interact with flight crews to assess cockpit physical and cognitive usability, while documenting human factors work for new aircraft, cockpit modifications, and sustaining programs. Experience across aerospace programs and platforms is essential.Key Responsibilities:
Deploy cognitive ergonomics expertise for HMI design, testing,
and analysisCreate and manage human factors activity documentationElaborate and conduct user-centered flight deck HMI activitiesInteract with flight crews during cockpit usability assessmentsPlan and execute validation and verification experiments, evaluations, and testsRequirements:
Ten years of relevant experience in the aerospace industryPractical knowledge of cognition, perception, workload, and situation awarenessKnowledge of aircraft systems, flight operations, and design standardsResourcefulness with computer-based tools and recent softwareAbility to work with changing and competing prioritiesUse HMI simulations, user-centered design, and cognitive ergonomics to improve flight deck usability across aerospace programs.
