Safeway Bakery Production Assistants prepare fresh products while using oven duties, recipes, and customer service skills. This position offers creative bakery work with experienced staff.
You will support Safeway’s Bakery team by preparing artisan breads, pastries, cookies, muffins, and other baked goods. The work includes customer greetings, merchandise presentation, receiving orders, and equipment sanitation. Experience is an asset, while quick learning and clear communication support daily responsibilities. Flexible scheduling is required, with evening and weekend availability strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare bakery products according to Safeway recipes and standards
- Perform oven duties and fry donuts in Alberta and British Columbia
- Greet customers politely and deliver superior customer service
- Receive, store, rotate, and present bakery products
- Clean and sanitize bakery equipment
Requirements:
- Experience is an asset
- Ability to learn quickly and communicate clearly
- Strong customer service qualities and team orientation
- Flexible hours with evening and weekend availability
- Frequent lifting and constant standing, walking, gripping, and reaching
