POSITION BACKGROUND:The Pumping Technician is essential to theexecution of routine tasks either on a project site or at a Ketek shop. In asituation to observe and ask questions, this position is vital to the growth ofthe Projects Team and is an important step toward the employee's career growthand therefore the enhancement of Ketek's field team.CORE DUTIES:Project / FieldAssist with the mobilization, monitoring,troubleshooting and demobilization of: wellpumps, diesel pumps, and electricsubmersible pumpsMaintain, repair, install, and service:generators, light towers, and heating equipmentOperate field trucks, loaders and skidsteers in a safe mannerTake instruction from the Site Supervisoror Site Foreman to ensure projects arecompleted in a safe manner, on time, andon budgetAssist with the routine maintenance andservicing of equipment in the fieldUse, clean, and maintain the differenttools required at the worksiteLoad and unload equipment by handPerform routine onsite housekeeping dutiesAssist and mentor Field LabourersShop OperationsReceive, understand and executeinstructions from Shop Foreman and senioremployeesClean equipment and toolsDisassemble equipment, if needed, tothoroughly cleanIdentify faulty/damaged equipment and/ordefective materials and inform supervisor ofproblemDetermine the correct type oftools/equipment to be used for a specific taskUtilize checklists, inspections, workprocedures and safety guidelines to complete tasksComplete assigned tasks in a safe,efficient and timely mannerPerform routine housekeeping duties in theshopOther DutiesComplete all required paperwork on a dailybasis, including hazard assessment andDaily Job Control SheetCooperate with Training department forscheduling of current/recertification trainingObserve all safety procedures and useproper Personal Protective EquipmentEnsure all Ketek's work procedures,policies and Occupational Health and Safetyregulations are followedRepresent Ketek in a light that iscommensurate with the values of Management and theCorporate Vision and Mission StatementsDuties,responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at anytime with or without notice.QUALIFICATIONSAND SKILLS:RequiredValid Class 5 Driver's Licence andclean driver's abstractHigh school diploma or GEDFluent in the English language(reading, written, spoken)Experience working with basic handtoolsAbility to deal with the public ina positive, courteous, and respectful mannerAbility to handle multiple tasksand frequent demanding deadlinesAbility to handle changingschedules and priorities, with high level prioritization skillsStrong work ethic andorganizational planning skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently or aspart of a teamEffective verbal and listeningcommunication skillsExperience towing a trailerExperience on oilfield or oilsandssitesExperience operating a wheel loaderand/or skid steerExperience in dewatering,well-testing, or water transferThisposition is defined as Safety Sensitive: Drug,Alcohol, Back, and Audio tests are required prior to commencing employment.WORKING CONDITIONS:PhysicalDemandsRegularlyrequired to stand/sit, talk/hear, stoop, climb, lift, balance, kneel and use ofhands/fingers to operate tools, machinery and materialsModerateto heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) may be requiredUseof mechanical aids: overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and dolly may berequiredRegularexposure to loud noises and metal particulates - hearing and respiratoryprotection is provided when neededPotentialexposure to acetylene gas, fumes, oil, and paint residueExposureto sharp edges, pinch points, trip and slip hazards, and blind spotsMaybe required to work in high, precarious places that are near moving partsand/or electrical works or in confined spacesWorkEnvironmentFieldenvironment (90%) and shop environment (10%)Requiredto work weekends and outside of regular office hoursRequiredto work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold andheatRequiredto work away from home for extended periods of time**** wage is open for negotiation depending on qualifications and experience.
