Our client is seeking a creative Design Engineer for specialized miniature automation systems in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA. The position focuses on small mechanisms, actuators, precision components, and high-precision applications. You will collaborate with R&D;, electrical engineers, and software developers while supporting prototyping and validation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design complex small mechanisms, actuators, and precision components
- Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability
- Create engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs
- Support prototyping, testing,
and mechanism validation
- Resolve miniaturization, friction, and precision movement challenges
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum three years of mechanical design experience
- Strong experience with small mechanisms or micro-actuation systems
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Onshape
- Ability to commute to Kimberley for required onsite sessions
