As a Senior Java Developer, you will design and deliver microservices solutions that power global reference data used by clients across Citi. Working within a global engineering environment, you will drive architecture decisions for new applications, influence technical direction and raise the bar on coding and security practices. Design and deliver end-to-end microservices solutions as a Senior Java Developer, supporting global reference data used by clients across Citi. Shape architecture decisions for current microservices applications, setting technical direction within a global engineering environment. Build secure, high-performing Java applications using modern frameworks and well-defined REST APIs. Coordinate with on-site and off-site engineering teams to align delivery across the project. Introduce industry-leading coding standards and software architecture practices across the team. Share technical expertise with colleagues inside and outside the immediate team to raise overall engineering capability. 6+ years of hands-on Java development experience, including strong proficiency in Java 1.8+ (Citi currently uses Java 17). ~ Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA and Hibernate for building enterprise applications (Citi currently uses Spring 5+). ~ Experience designing and implementing secure REST APIs, working with relational databases and writing PL/SQL. ~ Working knowledge of messaging technologies such as JMS or Kafka, and familiarity with a cloud platform such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure or GCP. ~ Experience writing automated unit and integration tests as part of test-driven development.



~ Hands-on experience building UI screens using frameworks such as Spring MVC or JSP, and proficiency with Maven or Gradle build tools. ~ Experience with NoSQL databases and GraphQL API design. Hands-on experience building single-page applications using Angular or React, along with JavaScript scripting skills. Experience writing Unix or Linux bash scripts and working with API gateway tools such as Apigee, API Connect or API Gateway. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, uDeploy or Helm. Work in a hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
