We are urgently hiring Underwriter - Intermediate(Residential Mortgages)Location : Montreal, Quebec (Hybrid - Onsite once a week for the first 5 )Duration: 6 months contract with convert to Full Time, however could be extended based on volume.Job DescriptionDecision- Maker -Negotiate, approve, decline and recommendapplications, within established Client processes, guidelines andauthorized lending limit of up to $1,500,000, including residentialmortgage, real estate secured and unsecured applications.Analytical - Gather, review and assess information and documentation tosupport each credit application within Client risk parameters andInsurers guidelines, if applicable.Relationship building -Handle, as required, correspondence and telephone inquiries frominternal business partners and external business partners such asinsurers,



appraisers and solicitors.Risk- Assessment- Review,prepare and make considered recommendations to Manager or seniorunderwriter where residential mortgage application is above authoritylimit.Agile - Manage high work volumes to meet short time lineswith a high level of quality and due diligence. You will also beexpected to review a variety of lending products on a day to day basis.Must Have Requirement3-4 Years Retail mortgage underwriting experience. Mostly residential Mortgages.RESL specific Underwriting (Real-estate Secured Lending)Decisioning experience with approval authorityExperience in reviewing and evaluating documents (income, down-payment, offers, etc..)Experience in exceptions rational (*they will be making exceptions themselves)Positive Understanding of risk mitigationNice to HaveAny broker or underwriting course experienceOutlook and Excel skillsA university DegreeFamiliarity with Canadian Rules and Regulation
