POSITION SCOPE:
The Education Support Worker – Post-Secondary will primarily provide support to students who are applying to or attending a Post-Secondary Institution which may include; applying for sponsorship and supporting all students to ensure success in Post-Secondary through success strategies like brief counselling and access to tutoring and advocacy services throughout their time at school.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A diploma in Education, Child and Youth Worker, or Social Services;
Valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License with clean drivers abstract
Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check annually and at time of offer
First Aid and CPR with AED Certification
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advocate to ensure the needs of students are met and assist with finding available resources.
Assist with Atikameksheng Anishnawbek's sponsorship application for funding.
Visit post-secondary institutions attended by Atikameksheng Anishnawbek students as required in order to support them. Visits may be in person or virtual at the student's request.
Initiates and/or prepares project proposals and maintains an updated project filing system.
Draft letters, reports, strategies, work plans, budgets, and other briefings as requested as it relates to identified issues.
Liaise with Post-Secondary Institutions as required
