As a Senior Software Engineer on Affirm’s AI Platform team, you will build the governed path for AI systems. You will design gateway, runtime, and evaluation services, while supporting secure scale across millions of users and transactions. The work includes identity, reliability, cost attribution, and security.
Key Responsibilities: Own AI Platform projects from design through launch and on-call
Build gateways, runtimes, and evaluation services for production workloads
Implement identity, quota, routing, caching, and failover controls
Partner with security, infrastructure, and product engineering teams




Monitor systems through metrics, alerting, runbooks, and on-call
Requirements: Four or more years building backend systems at scale
Experience with Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
Production experience with LLMs, agents, or AI frameworks
Solid technical planning, coding, testing, and communication skills
Equivalent practical experience or a related Bachelor’s degree
