Teach and support Long Span Structures students in person at the University of Ottawa’s Main Campus using grading and Excel skills.
This Teaching Assistant position serves the Department of Civil Engineering during the 2027 Winter Semester. The work includes student contact, assignment grading, laboratory supervision, and proctoring. You will assist students with assignments, maintain office hours, and record marks using Excel spreadsheets.
Key Responsibilities: Assist students with assignments during scheduled office hours
Mark assignments and post answers for students
Tabulate assignment marks using Excel spreadsheets
Prepare, supervise, and clean laboratory sessions
Proctor midterms and final examinations
Requirements: Ability to work in person on Main Campus
Ability to communicate and work in English
Ability to mark laboratory reports accurately
Ability to maintain assignment box confidentiality
Completion of mandatory legislated University training
Support Long Span Structures through student assistance, laboratory supervision, assignment grading, Excel tabulation, and examination proctoring.
