Teach integrated English skills at the University of Ottawa’s Main Campus using task-based instruction and interactive, student-centered learning.

The Part time Language Instructor teaches ESL 160, uOttawa English Experience, during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course develops listening, reading, speaking, and writing through real-world communicative tasks. Grammar, vocabulary, intercultural competence, learning strategies, and formative evaluation support instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Teach integrated four-skills English language instruction
- Use task-based teaching for communicative real-world tasks
- Highlight grammar, vocabulary, and socio-pragmatic skills
- Integrate IT resources and learning strategies
- Apply formative evaluation in interactive classes

Requirements:

- Master’s degree in second language teaching, TESL, or related discipline
- Two years teaching ESL at college or university level
- Experience teaching this or an equivalent ESL course
- Experience with team-teaching
- TESL Certification or equivalent

Deliver student-centered ESL instruction in person at uOttawa, emphasizing communicative English, intercultural competence, and formative evaluation.
