This Recreation Coordinator develops social, recreational, and therapeutic programs for persons in care. The work reflects functional, social, wellness, cultural, spiritual, and psycho-social needs. You will facilitate restorative activities, support basic living needs, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary community team.
Key Responsibilities: Assess patients’ functional, social, and wellness needs
Develop engaging social, recreational, and therapeutic programs
Facilitate restorative functional programs and activities
Assist patients with social connections and falls prevention
Attend team meetings as requested
Requirements: Diploma in recreation, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or equivalent
One to three years of relevant experience
Current First Aid and CPR C certification
Solid planning, organizational, and time management skills
Current criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screen
Use recreation programming, restorative activities, and patient-centered communication to support seniors and frail elderly people at home.
