Simulate and optimize photonic integrated circuits (AWGs, optical hybrids, coherent detection chips) using RSoft, Lumerical and Python Validate models against measured data; link chip performance to fabrication variables Design devices and test structures from simulation through GDS mask layout Define test plans and guide technicians Support silicon photonics and silicon nitride work; present results to stakeholders Essential Qualifications
Ph.
D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics or Photonics, or M.
Sc. with 4+ years of industrial integrated photonics experience Hands-on experience with photonics simulation suites (RSoft, Lumerical),
guided-wave optics, inverse design and Python scripting Optical test experience (tunable lasers, spectrum analyzers, PDL) and strong technical writing skills Bonus Qualifications
AWG design or silica-on-silicon PLC background Scripted GDS mask layout (KLayout, gdstk); open-source solvers (Meep, Tidy3D) Git and Linux; publications or patents in integrated optics Why Averro?
