Lead dementia-inclusive recreation programs with the Alzheimer Society across Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland and Haliburton. Coordinate in-home visits, group activities and volunteer matching.
This contract Social Recreation Facilitator position offers 35 hours weekly for up to one year. You will support Minds in Motion®, Young Onset Day Service, Sole Mates Walking Club and other social programs. The work serves people living with dementia and their care partners through person-centred recreation.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and improve the in-home recreation program across underserved areas
Assess participants and match volunteers according to interests and needs
Coordinate schedules and maintain supportive communication with families
Facilitate dementia-inclusive social,



physical and cognitive programs
Maintain confidential records and support community partnerships
Requirements: Post-secondary education in recreation, social work, gerontology or related services
Two years’ experience working with older adults or complex needs
Two years’ experience facilitating diverse groups
Knowledge of dementia and person-centred service
Valid First Aid/CPR, G licence and reliable insured vehicle
Bring recreation facilitation, dementia knowledge and organized volunteer coordination to meaningful programs across the Society’s four-county service area.
