The City of Kamloops seeks a permanent, full-time Equipment Operator V – Streets. This senior operational role supports complex street operations, road repair, and maintenance activities. You will guide junior operators and crew members while operating varied heavy equipment. Work includes summer and winter schedules, including required 12-hour winter weekend standby shifts. The Civic Operations Department provides services throughout the year across Kamloops.
Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment
Complete complex street operations across Kamloops
Support road repair and maintenance activities




Ensure secure work practices during operations
Guide junior operators and crew members
Requirements: Complete senior secondary school or equivalent
Hold a valid Class 1 BC Driver's Licence
Have an air brake endorsement for tandem with pup operation
Bring one year's tandem axle vehicle driving experience
Have 500 grader hours completing road maintenance
Bring heavy equipment operation, grader experience, and crew guidance skills to Kamloops streets and road maintenance services.
