Lead safe Primary Utilities operations at Stelco’s Lake Erie Works using technical problem-solving and industrial maintenance knowledge. This is a full time permanent position in Nanticoke. The Shift Manager, also identified as Shift Engineer, reports to the Area Manager-Operations. You will maintain facilities, equipment, and personnel safely while coordinating technicians, apprentices, co-ops, project planners, service groups, contractors, and bargaining unit personnel. The position supports operating efficiency and minimum interruption.
Key Responsibilities
Administer the company safety program within operating facilities Promote safety through contacts, tours, investigations,
and follow-up Supervise technicians maintaining various mill equipment Develop preventive maintenance programs using equipment history Complete scheduling, employee payments, reports, and safety conversations
Requirements:
TSSA 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate Two-plus years supervising in heavy industrial or unionized environments Electrical or mechanical maintenance knowledge Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in MS Office and valid driver’s license Bring leadership, maintenance expertise, and safety focus to Stelco’s Primary Utilities operations at Lake Erie Works.
