Support Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering through engineering mechanics expertise and in-person laboratory instruction at the University of Ottawa’s Main Campus. The 2027 winter assignment requires solid communication and hands-on preparation.
This Teaching Assistant supports the course supervisor for MCG1101, Section D, in the Faculty of Engineering’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. The assignment runs from January 1 through April 30, 2027, and includes weekly dissection labs, student consultation, marking, and proctoring. Work allocation will be specified by the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct weekly dissection laboratories for enrolled students
Set up equipment before laboratory activities
Consult with students during the course




Mark student work and proctor examinations
Provide teaching assistance to the course supervisor
Requirements: Successfully completed undergraduate mechanical engineering courses
Exceptional knowledge of free body diagrams
Strong knowledge of engineering mechanics
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
Basic hand tools and excellent communication skills
Apply mechanical engineering knowledge, laboratory support, student consultation, marking, and proctoring skills in person.
