This regular full time position reviews plumbing, sewer, and fire sprinkler work. You will enforce ordinances and provide technical information to property owners, contractors, engineers, architects, and municipal staff. The work requires interpreting plans and specifications while recognizing technical requirements for related installations and systems.
Key Responsibilities: Review new and existing plumbing installations
Examine sewer and fire sprinkler plans
Ensure compliance with codes, by-laws, and regulations
Enforce ordinances related to regulated installations




Provide technical information to stakeholders and municipal staff
Requirements: Thorough knowledge of plumbing, sewer, and fire sprinkler standards
Ability to interpret building plans and specifications
British Columbia Plumbing Certificate of Qualification
Qualified Plumbing Official registration at Level 2
Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s licence and vehicle access
Use plumbing code knowledge, plan interpretation, and technical communication to support compliant installations across Coquitlam.
