At Stantec our offices offer a vibrant and dynamic environment with excellent opportunities for professional growth. As a junior member of the Fredericton, NB structural team, the ideal candidate will work in the Fredericton, NB, Dartmouth, NS, or St. John’s NL office.

The role of a Structural EIT is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance and close supervision of an Intermediate or Senior Engineer.



The Structural EIT will assist with the development of analyses, component designs, report writing, coordination with other disciplines, and other tasks and designs for industrial and general structural engineering projects in areas such as pulp & paper and tissue, power generation and transmission, oil and gas, mining, food and beverage, and composite wood products.

Your Key Responsibilities

Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, design codes and standards, and other similar documents.

Perform structural modeling and design of structural components using relevant company standard software, hand calculations, and proprietary manufacturer software.

Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.

Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.

Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.

Assist with the development of technical specifications and proposals.

Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or clients.

Work as a contributing team member within a multi-discipline team.

Understand and work within Stantec's quality control guidelines.

Comply with Stantec's EH&S; program, with a focus on safety in the field.

Perform other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.

Capabilities and Credentials

Knowledge and application of structural design codes (NBCC, CSA, ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.).
