Lead cloud infrastructure and security engineering at Purelend in Calgary, building Terraform platforms and protecting sensitive financial data. Work closely with the CTO at a senior to staff level.

This engineer drives deployment, operations, data protection, identity, and security controls across Purelend’s FinTech and AI platform. You will extend Terraform, strengthen encryption and access management, and support regulated Canadian financial institutions. The work combines platform engineering, AppSec, compliance, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive deployment, scaling, and operation of every service
- Extend Terraform modules, reviews, and drift detection
- Manage encryption, keys, secrets, tokenization, and auditability




- Lead SOC 2 delivery and control maturity through Vanta
- Run threat modeling, detection, response, and post-mortems

Requirements:

- Seven to twelve years across infrastructure, platform, or security engineering
- Deep AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud experience
- Production Terraform ownership and container orchestration experience
- Hands-on AppSec and SOC 2 audit experience
- Ability to write TypeScript, Go, Python, or equivalent code
