We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Banquet Manager to support banquet operations at Polo Park. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about event execution, team leadership, and customer service excellence.

Reporting directly to the Banquet Manager and General Manager, the Assistant Banquet Manager plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of events, including meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, corporate functions, and special events. Working collaboratively with the Sales Department, Executive Chef, and operations teams, you will help ensure every event is delivered seamlessly and exceeds client expectations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that all details and services for meetings, conventions, catering, and events are completed and executed based on client requests.


• Ensuring that all staff are properly trained and equipped to effectively carry out their jobs.


• Supervising the day-to-day activities of the Banquet Department, communicating objectives, and scheduling/assigning work.


• Analyzing banquet event orders and effectively communicating with customers, managers, and employees to ensure that all room setups, equipment, supplies, staffing, and menus meet or exceed customer expectations.


• Performing all other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership and team management skills,
  
  
  
  with previous supervisory experience and 3-5 years of banquet, event, or food service management experience within the hospitality industry.


• Flexibility and open availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.


• Valid Smart Choices certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, clients, and team members.


• Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


• Knowledge of audio and video technology and equipment is considered an asset.


• Demonstrated accuracy, integrity, and accountability in handling cash transactions, financial reconciliations, and related administrative procedures.
