Through our Self-Employment Launchpad, successful applicants will participate in a structured business development program designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs transform their ideas into viable business opportunities.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are currently unemployed or underemployed, have an interest in self-employment and are ready to take meaningful steps toward building their own business.

What You'll Be Involved In

As a participant, you will take part in a guided business development experience combining practical instruction, individualized coaching and hands-on business planning.

Key areas of focus include:

- Business planning and entrepreneurial strategy
- Market research and identifying customer opportunities
- Marketing, branding and customer acquisition
- Financial planning, budgeting and cash flow management
- Business registration, licensing and regulatory requirements
- Sales strategies, pricing and revenue generation
- Business operations and day-to-day management
- Developing and implementing a business launch plan

Throughout the program, you'll work alongside experienced business professionals, industry mentors and fellow aspiring entrepreneurs to develop your business concept and prepare for self-employment.

Who We're Looking For:

Previous business ownership or formal entrepreneurship training is not required.

Your Path to Self-Employment

Successful applicants will participate in a 16-week business development program, including:

- 9 weeks of instructor-led training focused on foundational entrepreneurship and business development skills
- 7 weeks of business implementation, applying what you've learned to develop and launch your venture
- Individualized business coaching and mentorship
- Peer networking and collaborative learning opportunities
- Access to guest speakers and subject matter experts
- Ongoing follow-up support as you establish your business

Participants will work toward developing a practical business plan, establishing essential business operations and taking measurable steps toward launching their own venture.

Program Details:

Opportunity Type: Entrepreneurship Training / Self-Employment Program

Program Duration: 16 weeks, with additional follow-up support

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM during the instructor-led training phase

Work Location: Airdrie, Okotoks, Strathmore

Delivery: Instructor-led training followed by supported business implementation.

Participation is subject to program eligibility requirements and successful completion of the application and assessment process.
