About the Position

Hines Facilities Services Ltd. is looking for a reliable and hands-on Site Support Shop Technician to join our team in the Fort McKay area.

This position will provide general shop and site support, including cleaning washrooms and lunch areas, maintaining the shop and yard, assisting technicians, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and supporting day-to-day shop operations.

The successful candidate should be mechanically inclined, comfortable performing physical work, and willing to assist with a variety of tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Taking out the garbage's first thing in the morning
- Putting away parts that have been received
- Assisting with keeping the shop clean
- Cleaning mud from North American units when in for PM
- Scaling coaches during wheel off CVIP frame inspection. Assisting body shop with this task as well
- Snow removal is a big part of of your responsibilities (skid steer license)
- Loading and unloading trucks with parts and equipment (forklift license)
- Keeping track of potable water / septic needs
- Keeping the yard tidy
- Assisting building maintenance when needed
- Assisting techs on the floor when help is needed (e.g. heavy lifting, etc.)
- Fueling shop vehicles / equipment
- Miscellaneous tasks e.g. updating insurance slips, getting millages, getting T/A checklists done
- Drop off / pick up parts from town when needed




- Watching waste oil bin and trash bin level

Key Requirements & Qualifications

- Valid driver's licence required
- MUST have Skid Steer AND Forklift License
- Drive industrial units for North American bus moves(prefer)
- Mechanically inclined with an interest in equipment and shop work
- Previous shop, maintenance, custodial, or general labour experience is an asset
- Comfortable performing physical labour
- Able to assist with lifting and moving materials and equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Valuable attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety
- Comfortable working in an industrial/shop environment
- Willingness to assist technicians and take on a variety of duties
