Location: Milton, Ontario
Salary: $80,000 CAD annually

Help keep our people safe and our operations moving. We are a Mississauga-based logistics company seeking a hands-on Safety Manager to lead safety programs, support drivers and terminal teams, and strengthen compliance across our operations. This role is ideal for a practical, approachable safety professional who can turn policies into everyday habits, coach teams effectively, and follow through on improvements.

What you’ll do

Manage day-to-day safety activities and support compliance with applicable transportation and workplace health and safety requirements.

*
Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

*
Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and terminal inspections, following up to ensure issues are resolved.

*
Develop and maintain safety policies, standard operating procedures, training materials, and records.

*
Deliver employee safety training and coordinate quarterly driver safety meetings for Ontario and Quebec operations.

*
Work with the Safety Administration team to review Geotab alerts, address driver violations, and improve the use of telematics.

*
Oversee driver safety screening and approval, and conduct driver ride-along evaluations and coaching.

*
Co-chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee and participate in accident review meetings.

*
Meet with management to review accidents, claims, safety performance, and opportunities for improvement.





*
Support regional freight claims management and coordinate with consultants on timely International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reporting.

*
Visit regional terminals as required and work closely with operations, drivers, and management to build a consistent safety culture.

What you bring

*
Demonstrated experience managing safety programs in transportation, trucking, or logistics.

*
Experience leading safety initiatives, investigating incidents, and implementing corrective actions.

*
Solid knowledge of applicable transportation and occupational health and safety requirements.

*
Confidence delivering training, coaching drivers, and communicating with employees and senior management.

*
Solid report-writing, organizational, and analytical skills, with close attention to detail.

*
Experience with Geotab or similar fleet telematics systems.

*
The ability to balance operational demands with sound safety decisions.

*
Willingness to travel to regional terminals and participate in driver evaluations.

Preferred qualifications

*
A diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, safety management, or a related field.

*
A recognized occupational health and safety qualification.

*
minimum 5+ years large scale commercial, government or industrial experience

*
previous management experience

*
Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety & Industry Standards, plus familiarity with DOE 10 Part 851 an asset

*
Experience supporting operations in Ontario and Quebec.
