POSITION SUMMARY

In a manufacturing environment and reporting to the Director of Operations and the Operations Manager, the Junior Quality Assurance professional supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company’s quality management system to ensure products and processes meet established quality standards and requirements. This role combines hands-on product inspection and testing with quality documentation, audit coordination, corrective action tracking and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Administer nonconformance reports (NCPs), purchase requisitions (PRs) and corrective action reports (CARs), including issuance, assignment, follow-up and disposition.

- Coordinate and schedule internal and external quality audits.

- Maintain document control, calibration records, monthly quality reports and quality objectives.

- Prepare documentation and reports for ISO management review meetings, including updates on the status and effectiveness of the quality management system.

- Inspect raw materials, in-process components and finished products to verify compliance with established specifications and quality requirements.

- Perform routine quality tests, measurements and analyses, documenting results and maintaining accurate inspection records.

- Identify defects, investigate quality issues and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with production, planning and purchasing teams.

- Assist in developing, updating and implementing quality procedures, forms and work instructions.

- Support quality audits and inspections conducted by customers, regulatory bodies and other external parties.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality, process consistency and compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Post-secondary education in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology.

- Previous experience in quality assurance, quality control, inspection,



testing and/or a relevant technical role is required, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

- Basic understanding of quality management systems, inspection methods and quality control principles.

- Ability to read, interpret and work with mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, technical specifications and quality documentation.

- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document findings and collaborate with other departments.

- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, follow established procedures and meet deadlines.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

- Quality and Inspection: Experience with quality measurement tools, inspection equipment, testing methods or quality documentation.

- Documentation and Reporting: Ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports and support audit and corrective action processes.

- Analytical Skills: Ability to review inspection results, identify discrepancies and support the investigation of quality issues.

- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

- ERP Systems: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations or another enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is an asset.

- Quality Methodologies: Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, root cause analysis or other quality improvement methodologies is an asset.

- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with production, planning, purchasing and other departments to resolve quality concerns.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
