Venor is proud to partner with Prime Dock & Door in their search for a Service Manager to join their team.
Prime Dock & Door keeps loading docks across Atlantic Canada running safely and smoothly. Its team installs, maintains and repairs the systems commercial and industrial facilities depend on every day, from overhead and high-speed doors to dock levelers, seals, shelters and vehicle restraints.
As Service Manager, you’ll be based in Moncton NB, and lead the Dock & Door division across Atlantic Canada, reporting to the Director of Finance. You’ll own the division’s performance across sales, finance, customer relationships, internal processes and team development, and you’ll make sure every branch runs safely, efficiently and economically.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a family-oriented, safe and respectful workplace that invests in its people’s growth. If you enjoy building strong teams, solving problems alongside your technicians and turning strategy into results, you’ll find plenty of room to make your mark here.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Setting strategic goals for the division by gathering the right business, financial, service and operations information.
- Making sound, financially responsible decisions that align with company policies and procedures.
- Managing budgets throughout the year to get the most value from every dollar spent.
- Making sure each branch has the people and physical assets it needs to consistently exceed customer expectations.
- Managing sales and building lasting relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Upholding quality and customer service standards, resolving service issues and recommending system improvements.
- Running well-organized, informative Monthly Improvement Meetings, and helping the team clear roadblocks so improvement actions are completed on time.
- Motivating and engaging employees by setting clear goals, giving them autonomy and resources, building rapport and following up regularly.
- Partnering with HR on recruitment, training, coaching and other employee matters.
- Championing safety and well-being across the team, and staying current on new trends and legislation.
- Keeping communication flowing between departments and branches, and working closely with the president, managers and supervisors so customers enjoy a seamless relationship with the organization.
What We Are Looking For
- A degree in Business Administration, or equivalent work experience in an industrial setting.
- A team-oriented leader who leads with integrity, owns their mistakes and builds a team culture grounded in trust and respect.
- A genuine willingness to work closely with the team and empower others to reach shared goals.
- Technical aptitude to understand equipment and support technicians with troubleshooting and corrective measures.
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills, with the creativity to generate a range of options when issues arise.
- A flexible, customer-focused approach and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to adjust your approach to achieve results.
- Strong time management and the ability to turn organizational strategy into practical action plans, staying composed under pressure.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, with ongoing travel between head office and branches and occasional overtime.
