About the Job

Togala Construction is seeking Assistant Superintendents to support daily site operations across our residential, multi-family, and commercial construction projects. This role works closely with the Superintendent and project team to coordinate trades, monitor construction progress, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The Assistant Superintendent plays an significant role in keeping projects organized and on track while gaining hands-on experience across different phases of construction. This is an opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills and grow into a Superintendent role as Togala continues to expand.

What you'll do

- Support the Superintendent in managing daily site operations
- Assist with coordinating subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and site personnel
- Monitor construction progress and help maintain project schedules
- Coordinate daily work activities and site logistics
- Support the implementation of safety policies and quality standards
- Identify site issues and work with the Superintendent to resolve them
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure construction activities align with project requirements
- Assist with coordinating inspections, deficiencies, and quality control
- Maintain daily site reports, progress records, and construction documentation
- Communicate site priorities and updates to trades and project teams
- Help coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and site resources
- Support project closeout, deficiency resolution, and turnover activities





What you bring

Education

- Trade background or construction-related education preferred

Experience

- 3+ years of experience in construction
- Experience in a site coordination, Foreperson, Lead Hand, or Assistant Superintendent role preferred
- Experience working on residential, multi-family, or commercial construction projects

Project Type

- Experience in residential, multi-family, or commercial construction
- Familiarity with different construction phases and trade coordination
- Experience with concrete or wood-frame construction is an asset

Construction Knowledge

- Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with site operations, inspections, and quality control procedures

Leadership & Communication

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coordinate trades and work effectively with different teams
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Willingness to learn, take ownership, and develop leadership skills

Organization & Safety

- Organized and detail-oriented approach to daily site activities




- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Dependable, motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment

Technical Skills

- Procore experience is an asset
- Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with construction scheduling tools
- Digital drawings, RFIs, and site documentation systems
