Pay: From $28 - $37 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Job description:

We’re an established closet organization and cabinetry manufacturer seeking an experienced Shop Technician. You’ll help produce custom closet systems, storage solutions and cabinetry using melamine, mdf, plywood, and other panel-based materials.

The ideal candidate has professional cabinetry or woodworking shop experience, works safely and accurately, and takes pride in quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

- Calculate material needed from a cut list.
- Measure, cut, drill and prepare materials to production specifications.
- Operate a vertical panel saw, metal band saw, drill press, edge bander, forklift and other shop equipment safely.
- Handle full-size 4′ × 8′ melamine sheets using appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Follow cut lists, measurements and production instructions.
- Inspect materials and finished components for quality and accuracy.
- Receive and unload shipments from vendors.
- Help organize inventory and maintain a clean, secure shop.
- Follow workplace procedures and assist with other shop duties as needed.





Qualifications

- Professional cabinetry or woodworking manufacturing experience is required
- Experience operating industrial woodworking equipment.
- Valid forklift certification or documented training appropriate to the equipment used.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and a satisfactory driving record. Abstract will be obtained.
- Strong measuring skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and with a team.
- Able to consistently start between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m.
