Job Title: General Security Operative

Employment Type: Casual

Pay Rate: $20.40 – $21.60 per hour

Site: Healthcare Facilities, the Port of Saint John and Service New Brunswick

Schedule: Casual, as-needed shifts

Site Overview

You will support safety across dynamic community hubs in Saint John and Charlotte County, including active healthcare settings and key infrastructure like the Port of Saint John and Service New Brunswick. These sites rely on dedicated security guards to maintain a welcoming environment, assist visitors, and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct regular patrols of assigned grounds, entrances, hallways, and parking areas.

- Monitor access control points to ensure authorized entry to restricted areas.

- Observe security cameras and alarm systems to identify safety hazards or security concerns.

- Manage visitor sign-ins, provide directions, and deliver professional customer service.

- Use verbal de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.

- Respond promptly to on-site incidents, medical emergencies, or alarms.

- Complete explicit, accurate daily activity logs and incident reports before the end of each shift.

- Work collaboratively with site management, emergency responders, and team members.

Must Haves

- High School Diploma or GED.

- 19 years of age or older

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for safety reporting and public interaction.

- Flexibility to work casual,



as-needed shifts across multiple locations in Saint John and Charlotte County.

- Current Use of Force (UOF) or Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification, or willingness to complete training before onboarding.

- For healthcare site assignments: Proof of required COVID-19 vaccination doses, immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, and Varicella, and documentation of a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) skin test.

Nice-to-Haves

- Previous experience in customer service, security, emergency response, or related fields.
