Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct fire and life safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits
- Independently develop Fire Safety Plans and emergency procedures, from site review and drafting through to client delivery and submission for fire department approval
- Drive business development in the Ottawa region: identify prospects, generate leads, prepare proposals and quotes, and close new work
- Manage your own workload end to end, from initial sale through project delivery and client follow-up
- Support emergency planning, equipment evaluations, and training needs
- Mentor junior consultants on fire safety plans and emergency procedures
- Review sites for compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations
- Interpret and apply the Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, and related standards (NFPA, ULC) to real-world buildings and occupancies
- Prepare technical reports and system evaluations
- Deliver fire warden and fire drill training, and support other fire safety training as needed
- Build strong client relationships that lead to repeat business, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders

Qualifications:

- Diploma/degree in Fire Science, Fire Protection Engineering, Emergency Management, or related field from Seneca or equivalent

- 3–5 years of fire prevention or life safety experience
- Must have proven experience developing Fire Safety Plans independently
- Demonstrated sales or business development experience, with the confidence to generate leads and close work
- CFAA or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong understanding of how the Ontario Fire Code and Ontario Building Code apply in practice, along with NFPA standards and fire protection principles
- Experience with building plan reviews
- Strong attention to detail, with a high standard of accuracy in technical documents and code application
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD familiarity is an asset
- Valid Ontario G licence + reliable vehicle; willingness to travel to client sites across the Ottawa region
