Toronto

Massey Henry is pleased to once again support Export Development Canada (“EDC”) — this time in the recruitment for a Principal, Critical Mineral Investments.

About Export Development Canada

Export Development Canada (EDC) is Canada’s export credit agency and a member of the Government of Canada’s international trade portfolio. Its role is to level the playing field for Canadian companies doing business internationally by giving them a platform to grow and equipping them with the tools they need to expand and diversify their business.

EDC aims to contribute to building Canada’s trade competitiveness by accelerating the success of Canadian companies in high growth international markets. The organization is a financial Crown corporation that provides Canadian companies with the solutions they need, when and where they need them, to go, grow, and succeed internationally.

Purpose, Mission, Vision & Values

Canada’s Export Development Act establishes EDC’s mandate: To support and develop, directly or indirectly, Canada’s export trade and Canadian capacity to engage and respond to international business opportunities.

Purpose

Make Canada and the world better through trade.

Mission

We use our unique trade knowledge and financial solutions to support and develop sustainable trade between Canada and the world, and to enhance Canada’s competitiveness in the international marketplace.

Vision

By 2030, Canada has regained its standing as a leader in international trade, building a better and stronger economic future for all Canadians.

EDC's 2030 Strategy

EDC’s vision for 2030: Canada is recognized as a leader in international trade.

International trade is crucial to the prosperity of Canadians, accounting for nearly two-thirds of our national economy. Yet, Canada’s trade performance is falling behind its OECD peers, causing Canada to miss out on economic growth, jobs, and the host of benefits that trade can generate.

EDC’s 2030 Strategy aims to turn things around. The 2030 Strategy will guide EDC’s ambitions, choices, and actions, positioning the organization to deliver for Canada over the long term.

In 2025, significant efforts were made to evolve EDC’s broader corporate strategy. This strategic evolution ensured that EDC’s goals reflect shifting global trade dynamics and are aligned more closely with the Government of Canada’s vision and evolving priorities.

EDC’s 2030 strategy is anchored in three principal priorities:

- Championing the industries and exporters of the future
- Expanding and diversifying Canada’s network of trade partners
- Enhancing the country’s trade and productive capacity

ESG Commitment

EDC conducts its business in a manner that is respectful of international agreements to which Canada is a party, and demonstrates leadership through its commitments to environmental sustainability, social equality, and responsible governance (ESG), which are central to its value proposition, and key to the international success of Canadian companies.

EDC made public its commitment to become a net-zero institution by 2050.

EDC continues to make investments to strengthen its ESG practices and to invest in capabilities to support Canadian companies to do the same.
