District Ice Cream is rapidly growing, and we're looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on General Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our busy artisan ice cream shop.

We've built our reputation on unapologetically good ice cream, exceptional customer experiences, and uncompromising standards. We're looking for someone who shares our passion, takes pride in their work, and approaches the business with a genuine sense of ownership.

This is a working leadership position, not a desk job. We're looking for someone who leads by example, works alongside their team, takes initiative, and understands what it takes to run a successful, high-volume hospitality business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

- Operations & Leadership: Oversee daily operations while working hands-on alongside the team to maintain exceptional service, quality, and efficiency.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and develop employees while maintaining transparent expectations and accountability.
- Financial Performance: Manage labour costs, expenses, sales targets, and overall profitability.
- Inventory & Production: Oversee inventory accuracy, purchasing, waste control, stock management, and production planning.
- Marketing & Business Development: Collaborate with ownership on promotions, social media, product launches, community partnerships, and sales growth initiatives.
- Events & Catering: Coordinate off-site events, corporate bookings, and ice cream cart operations.
- Standards & Continuous Improvement: Maintain food safety, cleanliness, equipment,



and operational standards while identifying opportunities to improve the business.
- Marketing & Brand Development: Collaborate with ownership on social media content, promotions, new product launches, local partnerships, community engagement, and initiatives that drive customer traffic and sales.
- Ongoing Opportunities: always searching for improvement, resolve challenges independently, and support continued business growth.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

- Minimum 3 - 5 years of management experience in high volume food service, hospitality, or retail.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Experience managing inventory, scheduling, labour costs, and operational performance.
- Exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to leadership.
- The confidence to make sound decisions independently and take responsibility for results.
- A genuine commitment to quality, customer experience, and business success.

Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is mandatory. This position requires a consistent, hands-on leadership presence during our busiest operating hours. Regular evening and weekend shifts are an essential part of the role, not occasional coverage.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

- Competitive Annual Salary: Starting at $58,000 based on experience.




- Performance-Based Incentives: Opportunity to earn up to 1% of annual location sales based on established performance objectives.
