We are seeking a dependable Roofer/Labourer to support roofing and general construction projects. This hands-on role involves preparing work areas, assisting with roof installation and repairs, and helping maintain a protected, organized job site. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and as part of a team. This is a paid position with on-the-job training and opportunities to build practical trade skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist roofers with installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing materials and components.
- Prepare job sites by moving materials, setting up tools, and protecting surrounding areas.
- Use hand tools and other equipment safely and appropriately.
- Help with carpentry tasks, including measuring, cutting, and fitting materials as directed.
- Apply caulking and sealants to help protect roofs and related structures from moisture.
- Read and follow project plans, measurements, and basic blueprints when required.
- Perform heavy lifting and carry materials across the job site.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, and follow site safety procedures.
- Assist with general repairs and other tasks suited to handyman skills.
Experience
- Previous construction experience is preferred; roofing experience is not required but is an asset.
- Familiarity with hand tools, basic carpentry, caulking, or general handyman work is beneficial.
- Ability to follow instructions, work cooperatively, and maintain attention to detail.
- Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and performing physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Basic blueprint reading skills are an advantage; training may be provided for job-specific procedures.
