Job Overview

The Childcare Assistant supports children’s daily care, learning, and participation in a welcoming, well-organized setting. Working alongside colleagues, you help create a positive setting where children can explore, build skills, and feel included.

Responsibilities

- Assist with age-appropriate teaching and learning activities that encourage children’s curiosity and development.
- Support children’s daily routines and caregiving needs while promoting safety, comfort, and independence.
- Help maintain an orderly classroom, prepare materials, and guide children through transitions and group activities.
- Adapt support to children’s individual needs, including those of children with disabilities, and share relevant observations with colleagues.

Skills

Required: Practical caregiving,



clear communication, and the ability to support children’s participation in daily routines and learning activities are important to this role. Preferred: Classroom experience, experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, and familiarity with teaching or early childhood education can help you contribute confidently. Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
