Job Description – Experienced CNC Machine Operator (Programming Experience is a Definite Asset)

Key Responsibilities & General Duties

- Prepare and operate P2P and Flat table (nesting) CNC machines.
- Operate and maintain CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, routering, tool management, etc.
- Study and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Prepare and load raw materials into the CNC machines.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure products meet specifications
- Supervise CNC machines during production and make adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Ensure all CNC programming written is in accordance with production blueprints and quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Continually maintain the CNC programming database and perform basic maintenance on machinery as needed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose common CNC problems, consulting with management.
- Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.

Qualifications





- Post-secondary diploma or certification in a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming in a manufacturing, woodworking, Kitchens/furniture environment considered an asset.
- Previous experience in Kitchen Manufacturing is required.
- Understanding of G codes.
- Experience in programming CNC is a definite asset to the position.
- Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining.
- Journeyman / Red Seal CNC Machinist certification preferred.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Accuracy and highly analytical skills are key traits.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
