Building Operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Operator for hands on daily operations for our Edmonton commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and day to day maintenance operations. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and daily reliability for our building systems, while supporting tenant requirements. The Building Operator will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, hands on maintenance and working with contractors as necessary.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate facilities maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations as necessary
- Operate building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
- Respond to Tenant work orders as required.
- Conduct daily inspections of buildings to identify issues before they escalate and make appropriate repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing Tenant concerns promptly and effectively
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance records
- Support project management efforts for facility upgrades,



Tenant Improvements or renovations
- Overall maintenance of interior and exterior of buildings.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in facilities maintenance.
- Robust mechanical knowledge with experience in electrical systems, and building operations.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CMMS software is highly desirable
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance best practices and safety standards
- Strong communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
- 3 plus years experience preferred
- Must have own vehicle
- Tools and asset
- Police clearance required
- Car allowance and benefits provided
